ABOUT BARBARA BOURNE

Barbara Bourne has been a professional photographer for 40 years. The focus of her commercial work is architecture, interiors, food + wine and lifestyle images for the design-build, wine, and hospitality industries. Living in Sonoma County near the Russian River Barbara is surrounded by redwood groves, vineyards, horses, and the Pacific Ocean which inspires and informs her landscape photography.

Bourne Canvas Art offers Barbara’s landscape photography and abstract paintings in a variety of sizes and surfaces. Her studio and gallery are based in Healdsburg, CA.

Two volumes of Barbara’s work have recently been published; Camera Girl, Volumes 1 & 2 document the arc of her career from the age of 22 in Washington, D.C. where she got her start and how she navigated being a female in a field dominated by men. Barbara’s books aim to motivate young women who want a career in the arts find their own path, and she enjoys presenting her work and her story at public speaking events. She makes both California and Medellin, Colombia her homes.
